This is an incredible Keralan restaurant on this side of town, we couldn't believe the flavour. Wonderful staff, great decor and unique Kerala-focused menu. The fish mollee was the star accompanied with Kerala parota (super flaky and tasty) and as delicious as a good butter chicken. Must go!

We had a dine-in experience at Kalavara. The food was excellent, that is the reason I have given them five stars. The place is nice and clean with a simple setout. Chicken Pepper was excellent, and Kerala paratha was authentic. As good as it gets. We tried other South Indian dishes, and they were spot on. We did not try any North Indian Food, so we can't comment on it. They serve alcohol at the venue, and beers are priced between $6 to $8. Not too bad. We tried fish fry and it was lovely. A fried Indian Bangda cost us $6. I would revisit the place. The wait staff was friendly. The place is located in Browns plains and is open for lunch as well.

We’ve known about these guys for about 6 months now and first tried it out with their set menu on the weekends. It was a South Indian feast - truly delicious and homemade flavours! Following that we got them to cater for our baby shower/Diwali function at home and they delivered all items on time. All our friends raved about the food and still do! We went back again today and tried the Paal Porotta and Potti Sooru set. The paal porotta was something I had never seen or heard before and 100% recommend trying! If you need something to compare to, but maybe even a touch better (if I dare) … it’s like a Keralan lasagne 😁 a layer of gravy and meat of choice (I chose chicken), between two parottas, topped with some coconut milk and steamed/served in a bowl of banana leaves 🤤🤤🤤Hubby had the set meal and was truly satiated too - the mooru kolumbu was the standout. Best of all, the front of house staff (I think her name was Danya) was such a delight. She was so welcoming and had the best energy about the food and service. Thank you guys!
