REVIEWS

quote Absolutely outstanding! Kalavara Indian Cuisine in Browns Plains delivers an authentic and flavorful Indian dining experience. Every dish we tried was rich in taste, beautifully presented, and perfectly spiced. The butter chicken was creamy and tender, and the garlic naan was fresh and full of flavor. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Clean, cozy atmosphere and great value for money. Highly recommended for anyone craving top-quality Indian food!

quote This is an incredible Keralan restaurant on this side of town, we couldn't believe the flavour. Wonderful staff, great decor and unique Kerala-focused menu. The fish mollee was the star accompanied with Kerala parota (super flaky and tasty) and as delicious as a good butter chicken. Must go!

quote Deserves More Than 4.1 Stars! Kalavara truly gets better every time we visit. Their brunch menu outshines most restaurants not just in the Gold Coast, but even in Brisbane—both in taste and value for money. Portion sizes are generous, and the pricing is honest, especially considering the quality of food. The Achayan's Lunch is our all-time favorite, and yesterday’s Pothichoru and takeaway Kizhi Porotta were both incredibly tasty and authentic. You can tell they put a lot of heart into the food. What sets them apart even more is how fairly they treat their customers—yesterday, they were the only place that didn’t hit us with a ridiculous holiday surcharge. While we understand the need for surcharges, most places were charging up to 19% (yes, even the worst cafes), plus a card fee. Kalavara chose integrity over greed, and that goes a long way. There isn’t a decent Kerala restaurant in the Gold Coast besides a food truck, so whenever we crave real Kerala food, we’re more than happy to make the drive to Kalavara. As a group of friends who love authentic Kerala cuisine, we can’t recommend this place enough.
